YOUTH is an alternative rock/metal band from Zurich, Switzerland, known for their raw energy, emotional depth, and complete DIY ethos. Everything the band creates — from songwriting and recording to production, visuals, and promotion — is done entirely by themselves or with the help of close friends. Their lyrics explore the struggles, hopes, and frustrations of young people and their generation, blending personal stories with a modern rock sound that’s both intense and relatable.

The band’s story began in 2013 as a school project, with the drummer being the only remaining founding member. Over the years, new members joined and helped shape what YOUTH would become. After the COVID-19 pandemic, the band truly found its identity — the guitarist took over vocals, a new bassist joined, and YOUTH started taking their music seriously.

Their dedication quickly paid off: the band earned strong placements in several local band contests, including reaching the Band-it finals twice (with a 3rd place finish), 2nd place at the SPH Bandcontest, and another 2nd place at the Zurich Emergenza contest.

In early 2025, YOUTH released their debut single “Around Again”, marking the start of a new era. The later months of 2025 became a turning point — the band began shifting toward a heavier, more aggressive sound, inspired by alternative metal> and octanecore influences. Embracing this evolution, YOUTH started writing and self-producing their first EP, a project that captures their renewed creative vision and emotional intensity.
